Making a Clean Move!
As you prepare for your move, packing boxes and moving furniture around you may ask yourself this question? Where did all of this dust come from and how have I missed it for all of these years???
Dust accumulates on flat surfaces of furniture, behind dressers, under furniture and just about anywhere you don't have access to everyday. Now is the time to make a clean move to your new home. Dust off all of the furniture that will be moved into your new home. Pay special attention to the tops and backs of large peices that you don't normally have access to. Inside entertainment centers, dresser drawers, bookcases, etc. Give them all a good dusting before the movers arrive. New technology has provided us with new ways to dust without just moving the dust around. Electrostatic cloths and mitts make dusting a snap. After you're finished, just toss them and the dust into the trash. After dusting be sure to apply good furniture polish to protect your furniture and keep it looking its best.
After movers have come and gone and the task of unpacking begins, organization can be your best friend. Most if not all of your furniture should be in place and now it's just a matter of unpacking those boxes. An organized move should place boxes with the master bedroom items in the master bedreem, kitchen items in the kitchen, etc. Start with the essentials and don't try to do it all at once. Try one room at a time, give yourself goals - kitchen tonight, guest bath, guest bedroom tomorrow night and so on. You will appreciate the sense of accomplishment as you reach each one of your goals you have set. Before you know it, every room is unpacked and ready to start decorating.
